Coffee & Conversation: Challenges of Leading a Non-Profit

The 2016 Coffee and Conversation series convenes leaders of local nonprofit organizations with a small group of YNPN members for an intimate conversation about career and leadership. Ask your tough leadership, nonprofit management, and career questions and get to know some of our community's leading agents of change.

In January 2014 Yolanda Sullivan became the sixth executive to lead the YWCA Central Alabama organization since 1903. Sullivan’s appointment came after a long history of volunteer leadership with the YWCA beginning in the early 90s. She served as Junior Board President and on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and Vice President of Finance, and in 2007 was elected to service as President.

Prior to the YWCA appointment Yolanda retired from Vulcan Materials Company. Her passion for community involvement prepared her for the CEO position giver her work with not only the YWCA, but also in leadership roles with many other area non-profit organizations.
